Australian Education Union - Community Partner

The Australian Education Union (AEU) Victoria has continued its ongoing support of the Victorian Teachers’ Games (VTG), extending its long affiliation with an event that brings together thousands of teachers across the state.

Meredith Peace, AEU Victoria Branch President said;

"The AEU are proud to continue our partnership with the VTG, which commenced in 1996. In this Olympic year, thousands of teachers will be inspired by our national athletes to come together to participate in good spirit in a variety of different sports, some might even bring home a VTG medal. It’s a great opportunity for teachers to join together, have some fun and promote health and wellbeing."

AEU Victoria consists of nearly 50,000 diverse and multi-talented members, including principals, education support staff and teachers working in public schools, early childhood, TAFE, AMES and disability services.

As a community partner, the AEU will be on-site at VTG Central (Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium) throughout the first three days of VTG2024, and will be present at a variety of activities and events. We would love for all members and non-members to come over and say hello!

The AEU has been a committed partner of the VTG event for the best part of three decades, including its contribution to the 1996 event – the first ever instalment of the Games. VTG are thrilled to have AEU continue its support and celebrate the occasion with one of its foundation partners.
